Costume contests, festivals and NMSU homecoming among upcoming events

LAS CRUCES – Halloween is just over a week away and groups around town are already hosting spooky events in preparation. Check out what’s going on in the community this week.

Pumpkin carving party at Bosque Brewing Co.

In celebration of its 10-year anniversary, Bosque Brewing Co. Telshor Public House invites members of the public to join for a pumpkin carving party at 6 pm Thursday. Pumpkins and carving supplies will be provided, but first-come, first-served. This is a family-friendly event.

Awards will be handed out for best carving, most creative and spookiest carving. Bosque Brewing is at 2102 Telshor Court.

Doña Ana County Humane Society’s Howl-O-Ween Spooktacular

Join Doña Ana County Humane Society for Halloween fun at 6 pm Thursday at the Blue Door Venue, 1750 Calle de Mercado. Food trucks and vendors will be on site.
